Coyotes Re-Sign Chipchura to Multi-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed forward Kyle Chipchura to a multi-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to sign Kyle to a multi-year contract,” said Maloney. “Kyle is a hard-working center who adds character and grit to our roster. We are happy to have him back.”
In six NHL seasons, the 6-foot-2, 203-pound Chipchura has played in 262 games, posting 18-40-58 and 211 penalty minutes (PIM).
“I’m very happy to be back with the Coyotes,” said Chipchura. “I’m excited to continue my career in Phoenix and build off the success we’ve had the last few years.”
Last season, the 27-year-old native of Westlock, Alberta appeared in 46 games with the Coyotes, recording 5-9-14 and 50 PIM. In 2011-12, Chipchura posted 3-13-16 and 42 PIM in 53 games with Phoenix. He also appeared in 15 postseason games, totaling 1-3-4 and a plus-4 rating helping the Coyotes advance to the Western Conference Final.
Chipchura was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (18th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
