Coyotes Assign Samuelsson to WHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned right wing Henrik Samuelsson to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.

The 6-foot-2, 211-pound native of Scottsdale, Ariz., appeared in a career-high 69 games with Edmonton in 2012-13, recording 33-47-80 and 97 penalty minutes (PIM). The 19-year-old Samuelsson established career highs in goals, assists and points while finishing third on the Oil Kings in points and goals. He added 11-8-19 and 43 PIM in 22 postseason games. Samuelsson was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (27th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

There are now 49 players remaining in the Coyotes veterans training camp.
