Coyotes Host Sharks Tonight in Preseason Finale
GLENDALE -- The Coyotes will play their seventh and final preseason game tonight vs. the San Jose Sharks at Jobing.com Arena. Puck drops at 7 p.m. Arizona time.
Phoenix, which has posted a 3-3 record in its first six exhibition games, has 25 players left in camp and available for tonight’s game, which can be heard on KMVP AM 860. The roster must be trimmed to 23 players by Monday at 2 p.m. (Arizona time).
Prospects Max Domi and Lucas Lessio, who appear to be in a two-man battle for one roster spot, both will be in the lineup tonight.
"There are young players that come in and get it right away,” Head Coach Dave Tippett said in reference to Domi and Lessio. “And there are some it takes a little longer. We’ll continue to monitor and see where it goes.”
Thomas Greiss will start in goal for the Coyotes against the Sharks, the team he played 44 games for over four NHL seasons before signing with Phoenix this summer. Greiss gave up six goals to Vancouver in his last start on Monday. In his other preseason appearance, Greiss stopped all 15 shots he faced in Los Angeles on Sept. 15.
