Coyotes Recall Yip, Assign Kennedy to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Brandon Yip and assigned forward Tim Kennedy to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Kennedy played in four games with the Coyotes this season collecting 0-2-2 with a plus-two rating. The 27-year-old native of Buffalo, N.Y. has recorded 13-20-33 and 56 penalty minutes (PIM) in 129 career NHL games. Kennedy was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the sixth round (181st overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft.
The 6-foot-1, 198-pound Yip has appeared in two games with the Pirates this season, collecting 0-2-2 and two PIM. The 28-year-old native of Vancouver, B.C. has registered 29-27-56 with 130 PIM in 172 career NHL games. Yip was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the eighth round (239th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
