Coyotes Recall Klesla, Assign Brown to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Rostislav Klesla and assigned forward Chris Brown to the Portland Pirates, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
The 31-year-old Klesla has recorded 1-2-3 with 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in 15 games with the Coyotes this season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Novy Jicin, Czech Republic native has registered 48-110-158 with 606 PIM in 649 career NHL Games. Klesla was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the first round (fourth overall) in the 2000 Entry Draft.
The 22-year-old Brown has played in five games with the Coyotes this season, recording 17 PIM. He has also collected 4-8-12 with 31 PIM and a plus-nine rating in 15 games with the Pirates. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound native of Flower Mound, Texas ranked second on the team in points and tied for first in assists at the time of his recall. Brown was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the second round (36th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
