Prospects at Camps for World Junior Championship

GLENDALE – Coyotes first-round draft picks Max Domi (2013) and Brendan Perlini (2014) are taking part in Canada's National Junior Hockey Team Summer Development Camp in Montreal and Sherbrooke, Quebec.

The two forwards are among 41 players who were invited to the six-day camp slated for Aug. 3-8. Twenty-two players will eventually make the team and compete at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship in Toronto/Montreal from Dec. 26, 2014 to Jan. 5, 2015.

Meanwhile, three other Coyotes prospects are taking part in the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. They are defenseman Connor Clifton, goaltender Brendan Burke, and forward Ryan MacInnis.

The Coyotes selected Clifton with the 133rd overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Burke with the 163rd overall pick in the 2013 draft and MacInnis with the 43rd overall pick in the 2014 draft.

All five prospects took part in last month’s Coyotes Prospect Development Camp here in Glendale/Scottsdale.

The USA’s camp will run Aug. 2-9. Like Canada’s camp, it will serve as a first step for the United States in building the team that will compete at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The 42 players at the USA camp will be split into two groups for the first three days of practices and games vs. Finland and Sweden. On Aug. 5, Team USA will trim its roster and a single U.S. squad will finish the camp with practices and games against Czech Republic, Finland and Sweden.
