The Coyotes will try to snap a two-game losing streak on Sunday night when they play the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. The puck drops at 5 p.m. (AZ time).

Mike Smith, who owns a 3-0-1 record with one shutout and a 1.38 goals-against average vs. Anaheim in his NHL career, will start in goal for Phoenix (2-3-1). Smith has given up just four goals in his past three starts.

Coyotes captain Shane Doan will look to end a three-game goal-scoring drought. Doan, who started the season with three goals after the first three games, is one goal shy of 300 for his NHL career.

Center Andy Miele will make his NHL debut in this game. Miele notched seven points in four games in the American Hockey League this season, which prompted his promotion to the NHL on Friday.

“We need to have more skill and playmaking ability in our lineup so Andy will get his chance,” Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said. “We like his creativity, his puck movement and his power-play ability.”

After scoring three power-play goals in the season opener, the Coyotes have scored just two in 20 chances since.

The Coyotes again will play without defenseman Michal Rozsival in the lineup. Rozsival was struck in the face with a shot in the first period of the season opener vs. San Jose on Oct. 8 and hasn’t skated since.

The Ducks (4-2-0) had won four games in a row before losing, 3-1, to Dallas on Friday.

Goalie Jonas Hiller has had a solid season thus far with 110 saves on 120 shots and a 1.97 goals-against average.

Only seven Ducks have scored a goal in 2011-12, and only Corey Perry (three), Teemu Selanne (two) and Bobby Ryan (two) have scored more than one.

Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, who has notched four straight 50-plus point seasons, has just two points in six games this season and zero goals.

Anaheim ranks eighth in the NHL in penalty killing at 88.5 percent, but the Ducks are struggling on the power play at just 12.0 percent, which ranks 24th in the League.
