DALLAS – Loui Eriksson scored two of Dallas' four power-play goals and had two assists, and the Stars beat the Coyotes, 6-3, on Friday night at the American Airlines Center.
Sami Lepisto,
Shane Doan and
Lauri Korpikoski scored for the Coyotes (4-5-3), who were looking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
Doan's goal was his first of the season.
The Coyotes sealed their fate by committing six penalties in the first two periods. That forced them to play in catch-up mode for most of the night. Phoenix also got some bad bounces on Dallas goals that caromed in off Coyotes.
Brenden Morrow added his 200th career goal, Jamie Benn also struck on the power play, and Mike Ribeiro had three assists for Dallas, which set a season-high for goals scored in one game.
Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 shots as the Stars won their third in a row after dropping the first three of a season-high six-game homestand.

Eriksson's power-play deflection off Ribeiro's pass at 15:44 was the only goal of the first period.
Brad Richards made the score 2-0 at 3:22 of the second period, converting James Neal's cross-ice setup from low in the left circle, and Richards' second of the game at 5:21 of the second period extended Dallas' lead (see
KEY MOMENT below).
At that point, Coyotes head Coach Dave Tippett replaced starting goalie
Ilya Bryzgalov with Jason LeBarbera. The move likely means the Bryzgalov will start Phoenix's game vs. Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Phoenix cut the deficit to 3-1 at 13:34 of the second on a goal that was credited to Lepisto. TV replays showed the puck go in the goal off the skate of Dallas defenseman Mark Fistric.
Power-play goals by Benn and Eriksson during a 1:09 span of the second period gave Dallas (8-4-0) a four-goal edge.
Coyotes defenseman Adrian Auocin was originally credited with Korpikoski's goal at 16:58 of the third period, but the tally was quickly recredited.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Dave Vest of phoenixcoyotes.com contributed to this recap.
Leading 2-0 and on a power play, Stars center Brad Richards took a shot from the right point that deflected off Coyotes defenseman
Sami Lepisto and past starting goalie
Ilya Bryzgalov at 5:21 of the second period.
Sensing the need for a spark, Coyotes Head Coach Dave Tippett then pulled Bryzgalov in favor of backup
Jason LaBarbera. He, too, gave up three goals.
This goal was originally credited to Stars captain Brenden Morrow but was changed to Richards before the third period started.
