GLENDALE – Bobby Ryan notched a hat trick, and the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Coyotes, 6-4, Saturday night at Jobing.com Arena to snap Phoenix's winning streak at seven games.

The Coyotes led 3-1 midway through the second period, but the Ducks scored the next five goals to seize control and end a six-game losing skid.

Phoenix (11-6-5) managed just one goal on six power plays.

"We had some opportunities that we usually bury," said Coyotes captain Shane Doan, who had three assists. "If the power play finds one to make it 4-2 or 4-1, then the game is over. But we didn’t. That was the difference."

The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead when defenseman Derek Morris scored a goal at the 14:40 mark of the first period.

The Ducks answered just under four minutes later when Jason Blake’s wrist shot beat Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov to tie the score.

Phoenix took the lead back early in the second period when Lauri Korpikoski redirected a shot by Doan past Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller for his sixth goal of the season. Anaheim’s Luca Sbisa was called for hi-sticking at the 8:46 mark of the second, and that set up a Keith Yandle power-play goal, which extended the Coyotes' lead to 3-1.

The momentum started to shift in Anaheim’s favor after Ryan cut the Coyotes' lead back to one goal when his wrist shot beat Bryzgalov at the 10:57 mark of the second period.

Less than four minutes later, the Coyotes turned the puck over in their end; Ryan snatched it up and scored on a breakaway for his second goal of the night (see KEY MOMENT below).

The Ducks (11-11-3) broke away in the third period after the Coyotes failed to score on a four-minute power play awarded after Andy Sutton hit Coyotes forward Taylor Pyatt in the face with his stick and drew blood. Brandon McMillan notched his first NHL goal at the 6:39 mark, and then Corey Perry gave his team a two-goal cushion just over a minute later.

Ryan picked up his second career hat trick at the 8:15 mark of the third period when his wrist shot on a breakaway beat Bryzgalov from just left of the crease to make it 6-3.

Scottie Upshall netted his sixth goal of the season with 5:57 left in the game, but the Coyotes could not rally from that point.

Hiller stopped 30 of the 34 shots he faced to pick up his ninth win of the season, while Bryzgalov stopped 19 of the 25 shots he faced in the losing effort.

Center Ryan Getzlaf assisted on four of Anaheim's goals.

With Phoenix leading 3-2, Coyotes forward Wojtek Wolski backhanded the puck off the right post with Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller down on the ice.

The Coyotes lost the puck in a scramble and it wound up near center ice, where Anaheim's Bobby Ryan had just come off the bench.

Ryan gatherd the puck, raced in alone and beat Bryzgalov with a forehand wrister to tie the score 3-3 and shift the momentum for good.

• Coyotes captain Shane Doan had three assists for his first three-point game of the season. Doan, who led all players with eight shots on goal, now has seven points this season, with five of those coming in two games vs. Anaheim.

• Phoenix's loss snapped a streak of nine consecutive games in which the Coyotes earned at least one point. The last time the Coyotes lost in regulation before this game was on Nov. 5 in Dallas.

• The Coyotes dropped to 8-1-3 in games in which they've scored the first goal.

• Forward Lauri Korpikoski notched a goal and an assist to up his point total to 12 in 22 games. Korpikoski netted just 11 points in 71 games last season.

• The Coyotes are 1-3-0 vs. Pacific Division teams.

• The Coyotes scratched Sami Lepisto and Kyle Turris (upper-body injury).
