MISSION STATEMENT

Coyotes Charities seeks to enhance the quality of life throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations that promote healthcare, education, cultural arts and sports-related programs for children.

Hand-delivery:
Hand-delivered applications must be received by a Coyotes Charities representative in the Phoenix Coyotes offices by 5:00 p.m. MST on Friday, July 11, 2008. There will be no exceptions made.

The Phoenix Coyotes offices are located on the second floor of the westernmost Westgate City Center building north of Jobing.com Arena. Please call 623-772-3200 for directions and hours of operation.

Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.  Please refer to the Grant Application Checklist to ensure you submit a complete application.

Past grants generally range from $1,000 to $5,000, however the committee may consider unique, qualifying requests for larger amounts.
Grant Criteria:

o    Organizations must be classified as a public charity and exempt from federal taxes under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for a minimum of two (2) years
o    Organizations must be focused on improving the lives of children in Arizona and align with Coyotes Charities mission statement
o    To be considered for funding, the proposal must be clearly defined with specific objectives, state realistic timetable and budget, and post evidence for a community need.
o    Grants shall not be awarded to applications seeking funds for staff salaries, religious or political entities, sports teams or leagues, schools or their associated organizations (i.e. PTA’s, Booster Clubs, etc.)
o    Application must be typed in 12-point font with 1 inch margins, single-spaced
o    Please submit only one copy of your application. Please use paperclips. Do not use staples, binding, folders, etc. as copies will be made at our office
o    Organization must be available for site visit if selected as a beneficiary
o    The following are the primary interests of Coyotes Charities:
•    Healthcare: Organizations that focus on the health and well-being of youth through community awareness, disseminating information, providing support, and treatment or preventative cares.
•    Education: Organizations that promote the value of quality education for all children by enriching their lives with in-school or after-school programs that will equip them for the future.
•    Cultural Arts: Organizations that provide youth programs to improve the quality of their lives by learning to create with their hands, develop their artistic potential and share in the vital cultural currents of our community.
•    Youth Sports: Organizations that encourage physical activities, exercise, teamwork, self-esteem, goal setting, and a healthy lifestyle through community outreach, organized sports or mentorship programs.



Important:  Coyotes Charities will not fund any organization for more than two (2) consecutive years.  If your group has been funded for each of the past two (2) seasons, you must wait one (1) year before reapplying.

Due to the high volume of applications, all grant applicants will be notified of their status by letter. No calls please.

Coyotes Charities staff members will review submitted proposals based on eligibility and application completion, a committee will evaluate the eligible and complete applications and recommend grants for funding to the Coyotes Charities Board of Directors and final decisions will be made by the Coyotes Charities Board of Directors.

Coyotes Charities receives funding requests far in excess of its budget. Declined proposals are not, nor should be construed as, a reflection on the worthiness of the organization’s mission or programs.
